Autopia Is Back Better than Ever

Avast, Microsoft Security Essentials, Avira AntiVir, all did a great job protecting my various computers from the malware that infected this site. Avast is no magic bullet. It didn't do anything that the others didn't do. Of the three I listed Avast is by far the most bloated. Avira is the lightest by a long shot followed by MSE. If you really want to be protected install and use the excellent program Sandboxie. You won't get any malware with it installed.

Anthony A- Thanks for the tip Re Sandboxie. Should I want to try something other than avast I'll keep that in mind. As it was, I felt lucky that I'd installed the Avast, which I only got shortly before this whole thing transpired.

Accumulator, Sandboxie is not something you use instead of Avast. It's used in addition to whatever antivirus you happen to be using. Your computer cannot get an infection with it since your browser will be sandboxed off from your system.

Anthony A- Ah, OK, now I understand. Thanks for schooling me, I appreciate that you bothered to.

Heh heh, and to think that I taught Computer Programming back in the day! Now-a-days my pals tease me about being "Suburban Amish", perhaps they have a point :o
