Autopia Down?

Hi All,

I know that MOL & SCG are down, but now I can't log on to Autopia either...Has anybody else had this problem?
 
Same here...starting to get detailer "withdrawals"...shakes, sweats,..no, wait, that's then I use my pc on a hot, humid day.

lol If Autopia didn't crash once every couple months then life wouldn't seem right. I miss it when its down too. How else am I supposed to know what the lattest obsession of the moment is without them? :lol
 
dc never has server problems....except for when dwayne deleted everything! :lmfao :-p

but seriously, autopia is always down. what's david doing over there:confused: :doh :lol
 
You have to understand that the whole thing is hosted in his garage. DC is hosted somewhere else and is probably getting nowhere near the traffic that Autopia gets. David takes the system down all the time so he can upgrade it and make it safer and better. Too bad that sometimes it just decides to fall down and go boom. lol My first week as an admin there had like 3 outage days. I was freaked out. I thought I pressed the wrong button or something. lol
 
I thought something was wrong with my computer. I just installed Windows XP and thought I did something wrong. Glad I signed on DetailCity and saw this thread. I was really worried!

Is Autopia always real slow to load when going to the form? I have a 3 Meg cable modem and it takes forever to get to the form. Is it like that for everyone or just me?
 
I miss Autopia too! Hope David gets it going soon. I also hope that they get Meguiars Online working . At this rate I might have to starting reading more books.
 
MoL is somehow connected to David's servers...When one goes, all are affected. In this case, MoL went first (Friday night?) and then Autopia went down Sunday morning...

Interesting that David's "Better Car Care" is up and running... it may be hosted by Yahoo shopping...

I'm gonna have withdrawal symptoms in the morning.... can you imagine the group sessions in rehab? I'm starting to shudder...

That's odd...I would have thought that Meguiars would have their own servers.

I heard Mike P. say that MOL has lost some recently posted info...That doesn't sound good. :(
 
I know that on the bottom of Showcar Garage it says that it is hosted by Autopia Car Care. David said that he hosts several sites. His stores are Yahoo stores though. That is why those are still up and running. His autopia-carcare.com site must be hosted elsewhere I guess. David's background is pretty hard core IT and he knows a lot about computers.

I haven't been able to log onto Autopia for the past two months. Since then I always just get an error message 'server is too busy'. Could I have been banned? Maybe. But then why would I get an invitation from Mike and Lynn Phillips to attend Meguiar's Autopia Day last month? Complete with a visit to Jay Leno's Garage and the Petersen Museum. Maybe the problem is with my pc.
 
That invitation wasn't just to Autopia members. I believe Dwayne was invited to some shin dig by Mike not long ago. He invites industry types and not necessarily all of them are members of Autopia.

I had the same problem with "Patrick", i had to finally have David delete me, then resign under "a.k.a. Patrick"....I lost all my posts ! Feel like a newbie again....
