I've always wondered about how old fellow Autopians are. So how about it? How old are you, and when did you first start to get into detailing? Feel free to provide a story about what got you interested in detailing or whatever else you want. As for me, I just turned 22 a last month, and I don't remember how I found Autopia, but I downloaded DavidB's eBook way back when I first registered and saw all the great looking pics of detailing people have done on here and have been hooked ever since. I did have a long hiatus from here from a while, but I still like the idea and hobby of detailing. I haven't really started going pro and haven't even got a DA yet, but I'm working on that. The poll only let me put in 8 options, so I figured multiples of about 10 would work?

I'm 16, and started detailing probably 2-3 years ago. What really got me started was a sub-forum for detailing on one of the car forums that I went on. Once I found Autopia.. whole different level of knowledge.

I'm probably the Senior Citizen of the bunch, but I've been waxing cars since my dad bought a 1958 Buick Roadmaster (man, talk about chrome and sheet metal...acres of it).

I'm approaching 64 and find this work keeps me with the gearhead folks, nice cars, and good old exercise. This is especially important as I'm diabetic and exercise and diet can really help keep blood sugars near normal.

Finally, I'm still a kid at heart!....just ask any of my grand children!

Toto

I'm 47, not feeling old yet :grinno: Sometimes gotta remind myself that I'm middle-aged, don't want to be one of those boomers who thinks that he's still a kid ;)

Turned 30 in January......now it's all downhill! LOL Been detailing since helping my dad wash wheels (I was a kid and could easily reach em!)

Thanks to this site, I now spend entirely too much on detailing supplies and equipment!

Good for you man - I am 31, and have just gotten my game to "autopian" level within the last couple of years. I wish I knew as much about car detailing as I do now, back when I was 19.

Yeah, I currently own my own detailing business already. Registered/licensed/insured.
