Autoglym SRP and BFWD?

I cleaned my windows (outside only) with EF Pearl instead of of Clear Vision. The windows look great but wondering if this was a mistake, especially on the windshield. Just glad I didn't grab the EF HI.
 
I always use CP on my windows. I hardly ever have to use my wipers anymore. The CP makes the water bead up and run off the windshield. Works like Rain-X without the streaks.
 
The only thing you have to worry about is wax build up on your wiper blades. Just like the wax residue you get on trim. Clear pearl contains wax that can cause this. I use to apply wax to my windshield because the water beaded so well. Then after time the blades started sticking to the window even though they were less than a year old. You could tell there was white or grey buildup on them. I just replaced them.
 
You will be alright. You have to be careful with the front windsheild for safety reasons but dont sweat it.



CP contains some Carnuba but not a bunch. The next time you wash it it will be gone.



Heck I use QD on side windows in between washings.
 
All these companies use bottles that all look the same! I used Pinnacle Clay Lubricant instead of Crystal Mist one time....what a mess!!! Luckily it just washed off.... These products should be color coded or different shape bottles. Its way to easy to make a mistake!

When I first got my spray bottles of EF Hi Intensity and the EF Window Cleaner, I used the Window Cleaner on my wheels. I thought, "Wow, this stuff does work pretty good... although not quite as good as I thought it would."



Then I picked up the other bottle to do my windows... That's when I noticed my mistake. Whoops...



Since then, I've picked up the wrong bottle, walked over to the car, looked at it, and then walked back and gotten the right bottle. I always look now. :D

Get some different colored SHARPIE pens and write big on them. The color code will help you in the long run. Plus I love SHARPIE pens.
 
While we are on the topic, what kind of spray bottles do you all like? I am going to pick up a few of the Meguiar's ones next time I run into my supplier, along with the squeeze bottles (all I have of no. 26 is the gallon... a bit pick to tote around the car with).



You can get these at x-mart as well I bet, never looked though.

Grabbing the wrong bottle of EF is one of the rites of passage on the way to becoming a true Autopian...
 
Can be used on glass, I think it even says it on the label.



The only way I tell the difference between the Ef HI and CP, besides the label, is by how dirty the bottle is. The Ef HI bottle is a light gray and CP is new and white.



Still remember when Brad used EF Hi on paint, thinking it was CP, but only did one panel or so.

All the others who've posted before I are correct. You didn't commit a sin by using Clear Pearl on the windows. I sometimes use CP there as well. Laters
 
Anyone know if these two are compatible (SRP followed by BFWD)? I'm not crazy about the cleaning ability of Blackfire's polish, so I'd like to try this combo, but since SRP leaves behind its own sealant, I'm not sure if the BFWD will bond properly.

Welcome to TID mirrormirror, yes you get top SRP with BFWD. SRP is a AIO product, just let it cure 8-24 hrs before BFWD.
 
+1 on Angelo's advice.

For optimum bonding you will need to let SRP cure for 'as long as reasonably possible'. I have used this combination on a couple of cars (and David Fermani uses it quite often) with no ill effect. SRP has more cleaning power then Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish.
 
Thanks, gentlemen. I tried the combo yesterday, giving the SRP 8 hours to cure, and the results are great! Started to apply the SRP with my Meguiar's D/A (yellow Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 polishing pad), but abandoned that approach when it powdered up too quickly. It works just fine by hand, I discovered. Good combo!
