Autoglym HD Wax-What am I missing?

I finally had a chance to try Autogylm HD wax after picking up a jar at Walmart for $10.00. This wax was "super hyped" when Walmart was clearing it out. I used it today on my white 4Runner.

I found the application and removal to be a little difficult even after making sure I was applying it super thin with a moist app. The look was ok. The finish was not super slick. It kind of reminded me of working with Megs #16. Durability remains to be seen

Am I missing something with this LSP? I am pretty sure I would not be happy if I had paid over $30 for it. I have used other sealants and carnuabas that are must easier to use than Autoglym.

The stuff is CRAP. I'll give you $10 for it.:whoo:

It does remind me of #16 quite a bit! The difference for me was the look, it has that deep look and keeps it for a long time. It is certainly one of those waxes that doesn't fade after wash one. I think I got months out of it before I stripped it and it was still going very strong. Its one of those waxes that I forget about but should use more.

To me I'd rate it a little above average. There are better choices out there. I think I have every wax and sealant made..... I need to control my urges !!!!!

White is not the best colour to test this wax. Looks great on darker colours and yellow. Good durability too.

One of my favorite waxes - rivals durabiliy of 476, outlasts 845 and others, you'll have great sheeting and beading for a long time with it. It does require a bit more attention to remove than some others. I bought one box, tried it, watched it stand up fine for 3, 4, 6 months still going strong - then I went back and bought a lifetime supply.

White is not a great color for waxes. If you really want something to stand out on white, I'd go with 845 for the bright look.

I'm a fan of this wax too. Pat, if you really don't want it, you might have a bidding war on your hands!

Pat, maybe your prep work sucked........j/k! I have found that applying AG HD with a PC, red LC pad at speed 2-3 works best. I work it in the paint so only a thin layer is visable. Then let it sit for a hour before removing. Not as easy as Poxy or BFWD, but on my black car it looked amazing.

I was not to impressed. Maybe it was my prep. Do you tgink it looks better than Poxy or BFWD ???

I tried it on met. red.... I really did not give it a fair application. It was me, you are right.... With the others tons of waxes and sealants I have, I need to take my time and do a fair evauluation on products before I post anything. I'm sure it is as good as the other Autopian's have posted.

You sound like me, I have so many LSP's that I've been doing cars 1/2 and 1/2 so I can try more stuff!
