I purchased items 3x from autogeek.net and they're not very customer freindly people at all. I thought maybe once or twice I just had the bad customer service rep, but it seems like I was wrong.

They won't offer you the 10% off if you don't ask for it, even though they know it's available.

I think they have very good selection but they can certainly improve on their customer service and reward their repeat customers with honest best price possible.

****Fellow Autopians please search for coupon code before ordering on autogeek.net****

Hope this helps others to save their hard earn money.

Jake,

I'm a little confused. Are you upset because they didn't give you a discount that you didn't ask for??

I would assume the coupon for 10% off is a "ask only" basis because the people that know about it are probably very likely to purchase from them often.

I've had great service with them. :)

Exactly same with autpia-carecar whether it be by phone or over the net you have to ask for it. I don't see how it's autogeek's fault because you failed to ask for it  . Lesson learned I guess.

If they advertised the coupon, it'd eliminate the point of having one. They might as well just discount it for everyone.

As for the poor customer service, I wouldn't blame it on "autogeek bashers". With the exception of Mike (the guy on this board), most of their CS is pretty lousy, in my experience.

Why is this lame thread in the Good Deals section anyway?

Why would they discount your purchase if you don't use the coupon code? That's like going into the grocery store and complaining the cashier girl didn't discount every item because there is a coupon for it, but you never clipped it out to use it for your purchase.

The unecessary Autogeek whining lately on this board is probably part of the reason why we have like no sponsors and those that are here are buried deep in the forum. That's what I like about Detail City; the clear exposure to site sponsors coupled with their own forums. They are a welcomed, contributing part of their community and members reflect that with their loyalty in shopping there.

Here we complain, bash and speculate about vendors (with the exception of PakShak). It probably chases them away.

Just my $.02

Ya not sure why all the hating on Autogeek, but i've ordered from them numerous occasions and couldn't have been more pleased. I think they have great prices, selection and customer service. They also usually have cool promos, I know if it weren't for them I wouldn't have gotten a Wolfgang Concours kit and Pinnacle Swirl Remover/Liquid Souveran for only $10 shipped :woot2:

:2thumbs: for Autogeek!

Commmon' Pal maybe you're rich and really don't care about saving some money!!!

I am sure majority of the people here are hard working and earn every dime they get. The reason this post is in Good Deals Section is because I want people to know about money they can save. There are already couple of posts here that some people are not aware of the discount that is available to them.

I understand that autogeek is in business to make money and not to loose money. I just want them to be honest advise customers of the best price possible.

When I did ask for discount, the customer service rep told me that they didn't have any discounts available at this time. When I told her about the coupon codes availble on the internet, she immediatley placed me on hold and minutes later she told me the best she could do is 10% off and that's it....she was very deceptive until I confronted her about coupon codes posted on Autopia!!!!

What is with all the Autogeek bitchin??????

Does everyone forget the 12 Days of Xmas and all of the promotions that they did so that people could try out various products?????

I agree with Spilchy on this one. Obviously not everyone who calls to place an order isn't a member on Autopia. I think your complaining a little too much, I don't even think Autogeek is a sponser of Autopia anymore, yet the fact that they still honored the coupon code is pretty damn nice. As I said before they usually have better coupon codes and offers during holidays, but when you consider that most vendors offer the same prices them offer 10% off is pretty nice of them.

There are two 10% off codesI know of,

autopia

detailcity

Type either one in the discount box and voila, you get your 10% off.

Exactly! Never have I seen a vendor pretty much "giveaway" so many quality products. The fact that i've gotten to try so many products for next to nothing, makes Autogeek my first choice when I'm ordering.

Being rich does have its perks. Too bad for all you working class suckers

However, I'm still confused

Autogeek does advise of the best prices available (great Special Values page) and offers the coupon code to Autopia and Detail City - 10% off the purchase. You just have to know about the coupon code. A simple search in this forum will reveal this.

I get a discount in the Autopia store with every purchase with a coupon code that isn't readily published here either (to my knowledge). I have been using it for 2 years if there is not another coupon code special going on. Does that mean DavidB (the owner of the store and this forum) is being deceptive and not advising of the best price to everyone else?

With certain memberships come certain perks. Maybe Autogeek should abolish their coupon code system and just knock everything down 10%. That'll defeat their entire marketing and sponsorship campaign. But atleast, you'll get your best price.

While you're at it, I suggest you join the newsletter of every car care store so you'll get monthly updates of new products, shipping promotions and coupon codes. This way, you'll be in the loop.

I understand that Autopia isn't very sponsor-friendly, but it beats the way DC is run. DC isn't a forum, it's a cult :). Seriously, try saying something bad (even if its truthful) about PAC or Poorboy's there. See how long the post lasts.

I don't see alot of recent posts as bashing - people are just sharing their experiences. Its one thing if a guy who has never ordered from a vendor knocks them. Its quite another if you've ordered from them and had a bad experience (or three). I don't see any reason to protect a site with poor cusomer service on a discussion forum such as this. I understand that you've had good luck with Autogeek, and I wish I had had the same luck. However, its not like the claims of poor service are all fake. I think the rash of them is due to some sort of shakeup at Autogeek - I had good luck with them for a while, and then it turned all of a sudden. Their customer service has been all but useless to me lately. Maybe they have my name and address blacklisted :nervous:, I don't know.

I couldn't have said this any better, bravo. FWIW, I've had nothing but excellent service from Autogeek, but that doesn't mean they don't screw up every now and then. After all, they are human.
