I bought a 90 240sx and its 13 years old. It has horrible water stains on the rear quarter panel windows because the back side is black. I've tried chemicals such as No Touch Auto glass stripper and it was useless. I've asked the car forums and just stumbled onto this site and was wondering if you guys knew. I searched through alot of your site for any products but was amazed at all the results.

Simple and clear what product will remove 13 year old hard water stains and other window stains off my windows.

Thanks so much,

Ron

You would probably have more luck searching for "glass polish" since that is what it sounds like you need. Other brands include Zaino and Autoglym.

A glass polish may not do the job. If the damage is caused by acid rain and the glass is etched, it'll take professional products and tools to repair, if possible.

Try experimenting with mild polishes like SMR and see if they make a dent in the spots. Anything with a light abrasive will be OK for a test. If the spots are deposits from hard water (calcium, for example) then they might come off with the polish. But the polish probably won't make a dent in etched spots.

try using a claybar also for some deep cleaning action on the glass.

So what glass polish do you recommend?

aznromeox, have you yet tried to do the search that 4DSC suggested? Lots of different glass polish products and techniques have been discussed here for different kinds of problems. You can help yourself a bit by doing some reading here.

That said, lots of folks run thru many different products and processes before they find one that works. You could spend a boatload of time and $$ trying to do it. You could also go into your User CP > Profile and post your location there -- and in this thread. Who knows? Maybe some Autopian lives in your area and would be willing to share some product with you? (tee-hee-hee, it's been known to happen. Can't keep a good Autopian down. :p ) If you don't want to mess around with products and processes, you could also find a good, solid Pro Detailer to tackle it. Again, we would need to know your location to give you any leads.

Hope this helps you sort out the problem a little better. :wavey
