Wow, just finished using the PC 7424 for the first time. Still needs a bit off work on understanding which pads to use with which polishes, but for the time being I just went gentle to get used to the equipment. Here's the results :

Looks pretty nice! What products/pads did you use and what was your process?

Thanks mate. :D

I first gave the car a good wash down with Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo - I've used this stuff for a couple of years now and absolutely swear by it. Then dried off with microfibre cloths.

I had previously clay-barred the car about two months ago and the finish is still nice and smooth, so went straight into the Porter Cable fun time :

I just used the Sonus restore polish that came with the Porter Cable, and opted for the SFX-2 Pad (the white one) particularly for polishing as I wasn't too sure how I would be using a machine like this for the first time - better to be safe than sorry.

But next time, I might try used the SFX-1 Pad instead as it's more for getting rid of the swirls and hairlines which still bug the car due to neglect from the previous owner who kinda loved car washes and tree sap !!

Anyway, after the polshing was complete I then quickly went around and used the Meguiar's Hot Tyre Shine, and finished by cleaning the windows with Mer.

All in all though, it took about 3 hours today to complete the above and I'm real happy with the results......God only knows what it'll be like when I get the pad to polish mixture completely right

Those wheels compliment the car very nicely!

I stones throw from the Audi dealership and just saw a new S8. Love those wheels, extremely nice!

Looking good, what model year is that TT? I was looking at a TT but went with a A4 instead, my coupe days are past me now, well that is till I can trade up to one of these.

Thanks for the compliments guys.....really appreciated

DieselMDX : I hope you haven't gone trying to get the marks of yer screen ! :chuckle: They are definitely there, due to the previous owner loving car washes !! <yeuch!> This was just a trial run - first time using the PC and all - so I just used the light pad with a light polish. I'll probably give it a bid more of hard time next time around (hopefully next week if the sun stays around that long)

MorBid : It's a 2002 plate 225 model. The A4 is an amazing car, but your coupe days are never over bud :2thumbs:
