Does anyone have an opinion or experience with the Audi CVT transmission? I am looking at buying and Audi and know nothing of the transmission. Thanks.

Have you try going on the Audi Forums and seeing if it's good or bad with it? Sometimes alot of information can be found there. Hope this helps bio.

If it's anything like the one in a Nissan, I hate them... Cars should shift, not drone, but that is mho....

AMEN!!! I've seen the TV ads for that transmission, where the lady is waiting for the car to shift so she can put on her lipstick.....and it never does shift.......it just kind of slides between gears!!!! :mad::cursing::mad::cursing::mad:

I'm with you Todd. I want that shift to be SOLID, and I want to know what gear I'm in!!!

Back in the old days, we used to call a "soft-shifting" transmission a "Slush-Pump!":cursing:

Ya, I drove one and I remember thinking it seemed oddly soft. I did not know it was CVT until I got home and looked the car up online. I read on one forum that they can be up to 8K to replace as well. Dang! I am glad I told the dealer I wanted to go home and think it over. I'll stick with the conventional systems. Thanks
