Wondering about your clay.
I picked up some a while back, yellow in color. Now I see that it is white-ish/gray. Is it still the same poly/elastic as before? n Just different color? I need to order more, but only use the poly type.

TIA
Chris

the yellow clay as it was, no longer exists in this country. Due to a monopoly and some very interesting patent rights the good stuff no longer can be made.
i believe their patent rights will run out in 4-5 years but until then, Clay Magic makes ALL the clay available in the United States. (how this gets past the Sherman Anti-trust Act, I have no idea  )
Our new grey clay is a poly clay and does flex and kneed similarly to the old yellow but is a slight bit more aggressive. It is still sticky and easy to use, but I do tend to make sure I kneed it well before using to soften it up a bit.
I have tested quite a few of the current available clays and found this grey to be as close as possible to what we had before. Some of the ones we tested seemed to fall apart when using and others we so hard that they couldn't be kneeded. That's about all I can tell you in public ;)

What about outside of the US?

In Hong Kong, i saw some really really cheap green clay, it was 10oz for 6 CAD?

Detailing Clay originated in Japan and it is quite possible that there are great deals and other versions out there to be found. I know of an Australian company that made a clay (I have a sample) that was not that good, so you can probably find some out there if you are a traveler, but don't plan on bringing any here to the states for sale or you will find yourself being sued as many others have already. :(
