ATTACKED by SSR1

this product won let you down..

HaH - I knew that was coming.

I was going to suggest using a more refined product like BigRon's 'NuFinish', I am told it is domesticated and can be safely handled by children.

Alright people... Could we please not hijack the thread with more NuFinish blah blah blah? I don't close that many threads around here unless there is a good reason. When the topic gets so far off track that the thread is useless, then its going to get canned. This is a great thread so far, so let's keep it helpful, alrighty? If the point has been made then we can lock it if we can't all stay on topic. No more hijacking, capisce?

I did get attacked by SSR2.5 yesterday when I was using it on my wife's boss' F-150. I shook the bottle, opened the flip and got a nice squirt on my shirt. I had just shaken the bottle too, so that may have something to do with it. However, I did smell like Grape Bubble Yum the rest of the day. :D

Gee I think we may have to add an instruction tag to carefully place a rag over the top when opening:dunno

I suspect that this is the secret downside to
such good products; they're uncontrollable
when agitated.

Steve, you made a suggestion that I tried and it
seemed to work ok, so i will share it with the
rest of the folks:

Shake side to side instead of up and down,
then tap the bottle on a hard surface a few times
(ground, table, etc). This will get the liquid
to settle back at the bottom. Open the
nozzle gently; if there is still liquid trying to
escape, close the nozzzle and tap a few more
times on a hard surface.

I think what is happenning is that when we shake the
ssr's up and down, that a portion of the liquid is still
lodged up in the nozzle area, and that liquid is what
attempts to escape when shaken in the fashion
that we may be used to doing for almost every
product that requires shaking (hope that made sense).

It did attack awd330 today while she was helping me detail my new Equinox:dunno ..but not me:-p

I vigorously shook the bottle up and down then neglected to cover the spout when opening. Luckily, the bottle was tilted slightly away from me. It squirted out in a beautiful arc and landed about 5 feet away.

Wow, the ability for that to be misconstrued is so great..but there are children that read this board.

I hearby announce my method for SSR has a name: The Shake-Tap-Open/Gently method: STOG

You may all thank me later:headbang

I got my 3/4 filled bottle of 2.5 and gave it a good shake like I used to do. Gave it a few taps on the table to force the liquid to the bottom of the bottle, gently opened the tab, and heard a blast of air coming out. Sounded kinda like one of those silent but deadly farts:lmfao

But the product stayed in the container:cool

Scary thing was that while I was forcing it to settle, the 2.5 seemed to move in the container as if it were very angry or something. I mean i really am starting to like using this stuff, but I am afraid it will escape from the bottle and come for me.

What did you put in my bottle Steve?
