Attaching counter weight to 7424XP

I received my 7424 today, and it`s the first polishing tool I have owned. The counter weight was not attached to the polisher, and it appears it just sits inside on the spindle and does not have any threads to secure itself. Seems like this would allow it to just fall out. Neither the instructions or included video say anything about this. It suggests it should be "pre installed"

Are you sure you did not get a returned/used polisher? I am not familiar with this model but its making me scratch my head because as far as I know the counter weight is the only part in there that can be changed (the one with the two screws.) The piece it screws into (eccentric HSG) should already be fastened in there. Is there a screw under the counter weight> I cant see Sorry I`m not much help but I`m sure someone here knows. Maybe this can help

Definitely not the way mine came. If you can`t easily figure it out, I`d send it back. Maybe someone else knows better and ccan chime in

Call the people who sent it to you and tell them to look at the pics you posted and then send you a new one that is not taken apart..
They do not come in the condition yours was in (in the pictures) like this from the factory..

From the excellent picture posted, it looks like the counterweight part # 26 with the 2 screws goes into part # 19, which for some reason is not attached to the machine

Call them, send them the pics, tell them to send you a new one that is not like this..
Sorry this had to happen to you..

I got it as an open box item from the Autopia store. I was looking at it again this morning, and I placed the part back in the machine, put the pad on and spun it a little, now it seems to be locked in place? Either way I guess I`ll be making a phone call.

Very cool. I would hate to refer people to those threads, if they send stuff like that out. Well, it sounds like it`s going to work out.
