Aston martin vantage tar stuck in rims.

This very good client of mine has an 07 v8 vantage. The rims have tar all over them and I can't get it off for the life of me. Please let me know a safe way of dealing with this. (The brakes are not ceramic)

What wheel cleaners have you tried thus far?



Personally I'd go with an adhesive/tar remover or prepsol and carefully work at it with a plastic razor blade to get under it. Once the worst is off the rest should wipe away without much trouble.
 
Important to know what you have tried so far and how bad it really is. Looks like it might be easier to get all 4 rims off and get the barrels clean while you're at it. be real careful with any acid based cleaners!
 
I would try some form of strong Degreaser. I have never used Tarminator but I hear its great. I use Meguiars Super Degreaser and that works for me pretty quickly.

I use Acrysol on things like this and a myriad of other issues. It's my go-to miracle juice. It's sold by most German car dealers. I get a quart sized bottle from my Audi dealer.
