Armor all wax ?

I inventoried my products shelf today, to see which ones were almost depleted.

I went all the way to the back of the shelf and found a bottle of Armor All wax. I certainly didn't buy that, I'd remember. The bottle is almost full, looks like it's been used only once. I suppose my father bought this a few years ago and it's been sitting there since I started filling up the shelf with my detailing products so I don't have to carry them every weekend.

I don't think this product is sold anymore (not around here anyway).

What kind of wax is this ? cleaner ? sealant ? canauba ? synthetic ? The label really isn't much help.

Anyone ever used it ?

I attached a pic I found.

I used it back in the dark ages. Its just a regular OTC cleaner wax. I do remember that was a milder cleaner than most OTC clearer waxes at the time and it smelled real bad.

That was the way I remembered it too (still have some somewhere). But somebody else posted that they found the abrasives in it to be pretty harsh.

Ok, maybe good enough to use on minivans then, since the owners of these usually don't care much about it. (and it will deplete faster ;) )

I thought that was the stuff that Armor All pulled from the market years ago due to some problem. Maybe I have the wrong product but I am thinking this was it

Don

According to Guru Reports Armor All Paste wax was pretty good. I had a can of it last year and it did a very good job, but I left it in my trunk during the winter, and it froze and was shot.

Heh heh, well, *this* minivan owner keeps his about as nice as his cars that never get rained on ;) Couldn't resist teasin' you :chuckle:

That's the first time I ever heard of a caring minivan owner. :)

If that stuff was pulled because of a problem, I'd really like to know about it.

Heh heh, just because the dogs need a minivan that doesn't mean it can't be virtually concours ;) From the roof to the undercarriage, it's still one of *my* vehicles :D

I think it was a forumulation of their vinyl stuff that got pulled. Other than the abrasiveness I can't imagine anything wrong with the wax. It's still working fine on my snowthrower.
