Armor All - good only on wheel wells?

You have to give it to AA them wip thingys are pretty cool and I wish more manufacturers of products would think of making them. I tried the cleaner ones and they are like industrial strength baby wipes! Great for cleaning crap throughout the house. The window ones stink IMO. Have not tried any others.

VINYLEX has em now???? OMG Where? What store?

I want some. Hurry up and try them out for me and post a review! Quick while I search where to buy.

I wish Ron was still here... so the question...

IS ARMOR-ALL NOW SAFE?

There are many horror stories about Armor-All, but their new formula is supposedly a water-based PDMS formula and free of petroleum distillates... I dunno.

I would agree that the new A/A is safe to use on your vehicle. I think you will find the PDMS is safe to use on your rubber, plastic and vinyl. It was the older material that had the Dimethyl silicone oil in it, and did the damage over time.

For example, I have a good friend that has had an 81 Camaro since it was new. We recently pulled the motor and trans out of it for rebuild. It was spotless inside and out. That's how he takes care of his iron.

The only thing wrong with the whole car, are the seats inside.

He used to wipe them down regularly with A/A. The vinyl is not too bad, but the seats are all coming apart at the seams. The old Dimethyl oils ate up the nylon thread that was used to sow the seats together. It took a long time for this to happen, but it slowly and surely did.

I don't see why anyone would use something like that on your vehicle. Please read the label! In the long run, buying the better products like 303 or Vinylex are really cheaper than some of the deals you see at the local auto store or on the web.

Again, read the label, and if your not sure, just pass them up. Enjoy!
