Guys-

I have a 2001 Ford Super Duty in True blue. I always keep it as clean as possible; and with this under lights, I can see small hairline scratches in the finish.

I read alot here about Zaino, Klasse and others and need your input on what to use to remove/fill? these hairlines scratches.

I have always used Griot's car wash soap, and due to the water here a quick follow-up is req'd with their Speed Shine product.

The truck looks good; but can be much better.

Your thoughts, please.

There are a couple ways to look at this. The best way is to "remove" the scratches with an abrasive like Finesse It II and then use any wax or sealant to finish.

Products like 3M Imperial Hand glaze have fillers that help disguise, if only temporarily, scratches. These are for use with Carnuba wax toppings.

Zaino Z5 is a polymer sealant that has some filling capabilities. It is helpful for very light swirl marks or hazing. It can be layered and needs no additional top coat. This does tend to last longer than the carnuba products mentioned earlier.

There are severe limitations to both methods of "hiding" marks in the paint. The best solution is to "remove" them. I would suggest trying your best at that and then choose the wax or sealant brand of your choice.

Welcome to the forum!!!

I suggest reading the DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS section on the carport site shown above. It has lots of tips.

As for removing these Swirl marks always start with the least abrasive and work your way towards rougher until you are satisfied.

yhea, I have the same problem on my 2000 XLT. It's deep wedgewood blue. You can really see them in the sunlight. I was planning on working on it next weekend. I'm going to try to fix the scratches this week with some touch-up paint I just got.

Edit: Scratches I'm touching up are not the fine ones you see in the paint. They are ones from WOMEN walking by the truck with their purses and getting outta their cars and hitting it.

These sealants like Klasse and Zaino again.

I've never used them; is there anything made by Meg's that can compare to them?

I've used Megs exclusively with good results in the refinishing world, but when trying #9 Swirl remover, meager to NO results on these pesky lil' buggers.

[/b]</blockquote>Yes, Meguiar's has a product, #20 Polymer Sealant that can compare with K or Z, but every member I have heard compare Meguiar's #20 and K or Z has voted for the other product. #20 will work fine though if you don't want to "go through the trouble" of the other sealants.

Many here who have tried Klasse and Zaino on blue have preferred Klasse, but it's all personal preference. IMO, YMMV. ;)

Meguiar's #20 is a good product. It's not a great one though in my opinion. I don't think theres a person in this entire board who has tried Klasse, Zaino and Meguiar's #20 who prefers #20. I have used it quite a bit in the past but no longer do so. Klasse Sealant Glaze, Zaino, and Blackfire sealant will all give you a better shine and equal protection. Laters

Okay guys and gals, it's Football season.

Let's have your Super Bowl Predictions for this year.

I am praying for me beloved J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets:clap::clap::clap:

But, I think it will be:
Colts vs. Packers with the Colts taking it all.

I am a die hard packers fan! I bleed green and gold. I was fortunate enough to go the the NFC championship a few years back when it was Green Bay vs Gians in the holy land and would love to go again this year

Cowboys!!!

Having to listen to all the NY Giants fans while I lived in NYC for 12 years was tough!!! Watching the Superbowl victory parade was even worse!

We're about to put a licking on the Redskins. Stay tuned.
