Are you on or off the paste wax bangwagon?

Yeah, I still like paste waxes: #16, 476S, (old version of) 3M Showcar Paste, Souveran.

Only liquid wax I use regularly is 845, but I do keep thinking I'd like to revisit Malm's liquid some time.

Not that I don't also appreciate the sealants I use on three of our vehicles...

Honestly, I prefer liquid/spray waxes over paste. At the end of a long detail the last thing I want to be doing is spending a lot of time applying LSP (which is why I reach for 845IW/finishing pad and the PC most of the time over 476s, even though the 476 lasts longer).

Im on the WOWA "bangwagon"

Im just too lazy to use paste waxes anymore. It is nice when its hot out just for the sake of nostalgia

I've got to say I like liquids more. Paste is good for putting a necessary amount of wax on the applicator. I find paste ideal for pad priming, mostly because I don't want to contaminate the paste with anything.

I bet just about everyone of us learned with paste. Im fine with using either.

But I've got to go with liquid.

Liquid what ????

I use both, I like to top sealants with Nubas like Pinnacle, Fuzion. Winter 845 topped a week or two later with 476.

Yeah, I won't argue that the nostalgia factor counts for me, at least a little. It's part of that "find something you like and use it often" dictum; easier to stick with when you like the product for one reason or another.

WAX: Paste

CLEANER WAXES: Liquid

Sealers: Liquid

The only liquid wax I've really been nuts about lately is Collinite #925. Love that stuff! Haven't found a wax that lasts or beads more than Collinite #925, and even has a really nice shine to it. Not the shiniest when compared to more expensive boutique waxes, but it blows all OTC waxes out of the water, IMO. Plus with no cleaners or abrasives, I like to layer the hell out of it. Even if some people believe layering is a myth and isn't possible, I do it anyway, just for good measure.

:chuckle:

Been using less paste on my details lately...

Switching more to spray waxes to top off on my sealants:hifive:

Maybe it's the convenience

I'm more of a liquid sealant type of guy lately, and am trying to get rid of my 2 tins of unused M16. I just like the gloss of a sealant over the warmth of a nuba...generally speaking.

Waxes and sealants.

This is unrealted. but why is it called paste wax anyway? I mean it's not sticky and it's never used in elementry school projects!

Que the Seinfeld bassline.

After using sealant, is it okay to use cleaner wax to give more gloss?

The cleaner wax will clean the sealant off. I'd say do sealant as your LSP instead of cleaner wax, but I am pretty new to detailing.(about a year)
