all of the time?

I have used Vinylex on the inside of my bimmer before and it was quite good but was a little too shiney and left a bit of residue which was a bit of a pain - mainly on the interior door handle.

I picked up a little bottle of 303 and did the interior plastic and it looks great!.

The 303 gives it a nice matte black finish and no residue.

It isn't as slick either.

Only downside is the slight old sock smell.

Thanks for the tip guys!:bow

Can't wait to use my Mother's clay bar but it just snowed here again last night:mad:

I have been wanting to try 303, but now all this talk of old sock smell has me wary. Does the smell go away after it dries, or does it linger. I don't want my whole car to smell like old socks the whole time.

Either my feet smell and the 303 just blends in ;) or the smell leaves after it dries. I really do not detect a foul odor after use. I also use Mequiar's odor eliminating spray which removes all smells including cigarette stink.:nixweiss

I have never had a smell problem either. But then again I dont apply it that thick or anyhting but I have never even noticed it had a smell at all....My feet must stink too! :p :scared

BM smells nice!:scared

BM as in Black Magic Dashboard Protectant (semi-gloss formula only).

It has the safe PDMS silicon and is waterbased and is water based and has a super nice healthy matte finish. Some people on this forum us it on their "other" car, or people looking to save a little cash since it can be found locally for like $2.99.

:bounce

Personally, I've been using it on my Passat. Haven't tried out aeorspace old sock yet though. All smells dissiapate over time, I imagine you'll just have to deal with it only initally.

I've been using 303 for over a year now, and have never felt that it smelled "bad". It sure doesn't smell like Souveran, but I would not say that it smells bad/offensive.

I think that if you are hesitant to try it based on what other's are saying about odor, you should buy the small pump bottle that they sell and try it out for yourself. Scent is rather subjective.:wavey

I noticed that on the 303 website they have some sort of free samples. Looks like one option you pay $5 for shipping and get some small bottles of stuff, the other option is free and you get some minimal sample packs. Might be an option if you just wanted to see how it works and see how it smells.

Try:

Cool, thanks turnip. Looks like only the foil pack will ship to Canada though, not the little bottles. So I'll have to settle for that.

Did the inside of the Mustang with 303 a few days ago and both my wife and I noticed a smell the next day. Now that you brought it up, it definitely did smell like old socks! I don't think that it has persisted though and I really like the matte shine, so next time I may just leave the windows down overnight, or use some air freshener for a day or so.

I have never noticed the smell once it dries, I leave the windows open (my cars are garaged) the night after I do the enterior anyway. Hey maybe I just need to change socks once in a while.
