Gas here in SoCal is finally at $4.05 a gallon for regular with no end in sight! We are in a full blown recession but our government is in denial. Here's where our hard earned dollars are going. :hairpull Please read this:

FLYING PALACE

In November, Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Group, placed the first firm order for the Airbus A380 Flying Palace, the VIP version of the A380. Alwaleed's net worth is estimated at $20 billion, according to Forbes magazine.

Alwaleed will not be the only private owner of the A380. Edése Doret Industrial Design Inc., a New York-based design company, is working on the interior of another A380 Flying Palace for an undisclosed buyer. The plane will live up to its palatial moniker, though with a "modern and minimalist interior," says Edése A. Doret Jr., the company's president. Using the A380's cargo space, the interior will consist of three levels. The first will serve as the entry and crew area. From there, a spiral staircase will lead to the main deck, where two lounges, a dining room with seating for 14, a galley and entourage seating area await. The third level will house the master bedroom and bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Doret describes his creation as a "flying yacht" with a "New York City loft" feel.

The plane comes with a price tag of nearly $320 million. The interior will cost an additional $150 million, Doret said.

You bet!

More so as I have to use 93 octane and the cost is just way too high now.

So much for going into Iraq... No oil from there unless your with Halliburton.

Not really. Considering what wages were in the 70's compared to now, there's not much difference at all

I have to use BP Ultimate 98 but don't care.

Jesus, stop crying, you have the cheapest gas in the world... I wonder what would you do if you would need to pay $6,50 a gallon (as we do)...

I think the time is near, when American people will soon start saving on gas by buying less fuel consuming vehicles. For example in my country, most of cars have 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 petrol or diesel engines. For example my 2.0 140hp petrol engine easily makes 30 mpg.

I get 50-75 miles per gallon on my Ninja so it doesn't bother me too much. ;) But when I have to fill up me 26+ gallon F-150 it kills me. That truck will be gone in a few months though.

Its not just gas though folks, its the cost of living period............And I dont know about the rest of you, but my cost of living adjustment averages about 2% a year. Not nearly enough to keep up with the real "cost of living". i.e. teenagers.

We might be whining, but is it really "fair"?

lets all just move to venezuela! if we could put up the all the kidnapping for ransom(which might not be that bad,it lets me know people care:lol) gas is only $0.12 a gallon!!!

And you live on the coast where the cost of living is a little more it seems. :(

I've been paying over $4.00 a Gallon for the past year we are up to $4.30's for regular now. Still I would rather pay a bit more to fill my car than not have health care.

My thoughts exactly.

I think the gas issue is just shedding more light on a weakening dollar and increasing costs to survive not equally matched by yearly raises.

If this does keep up, I'd like to see where all of these SUVs will go in a year or so. I can't imagine paying double what your monthly payment is to Mobil feels all that good.

Whine on my brothers. Somebody just might start listening if we make enough noise. I heard on the radio last year there was some sort of conference outside Vancouver area where a bunch of bigshots from differenct countries converged to discuss rising oil prices and what to do about it. The irony was they all flew in on private jets oblivious to their own fuel consumption.

Put simply, no one has an incentive to bring prices down. The producers don't want to open the taps on a declining resource in order to sell it cheaper. They will only do this in short spurts to starve out alternative developments (see what the Saudis did to Tar Sands projects in the mid-90's). The refiners are skating on a tiny margin right now and the last thing they want to do is invest 2-5 billion dollars in a plant that's not going to increase their margin, will take 5 years to come online, and may be obsolete by then (in case of an alternative fuel breakthrough).

Most governments are taking high prices as an opportunity to tackle climate change anyways. When it comes to encouraging investment, there is no way politically that they could push a new refinery through instead of green subsidies. Not even the Republicans could pull that off right now.

So basically, no one cares about your problems because they have a special interest that they're beholden to. Welcome to American Democracy:angry.

It sucks!

I was going to buy a new TV this summer with my tax rebate. Now I'm using it to offset the fuel cost. :(

Bob... What are you replacing the F150 with?
