Are these tips recoverable?

Hey, i know there really really bad and gross, but is there anything that would bring them back to a shine? I think there just polised chrome, im not sure, also my rims, american racing bajas, polished aluminum i believe. Ive tried mothers mag+chrome polish on them, but i didnt get very good results. I remember somebody doing his exhuast, and it came out great, i cant find the thread. Any ideas anybody? Thanks a lot

I think eagle one never dull cotton wadding should help the rims a bunch but the only way you will bring back those tips would be to cut them off and weld new ones on.
 
Maybe try to get the rust off with steel wool or something, and then use a Dremel or something with a metal polish? :nixweiss



If that tip had a plating or coating it looks long gone, so you'll be just polishing the metal. Just my guess though, I don't do this kind of work. :p
 
i was afraid of that, there really cheap tips anyways, 10 bucks a pop, might as well just front the $30 to get new ones welded back on. So for the wheels, any more suggestions?
 
Those tips are trash. Replace them with stainless and youll only have to wash them to keep them like brand new. Try some Heavy Metal polish for those wheels. The stuff is great.
