Are these descent results?

Try stepping up from 5.5 to 6 and see whether that makes a difference in speed of progress. I felt there is a difference. Also, I would follow Accumulator's advice to try smaller pads. You wouldn't believe how much more efficient 5"-5.5" are than 6.5", and 4" are even more. Just be careful.

Furthermore, make sure your pressure is "just right". I am guilty of both bogging PC down with too much pressure and not using enough pressure. Marking pad / backing plate with one line across will give you visual indicator are you using too much / too little.

Just got the LC Yellow pad and OC and OP.

So going with the least aggressive method first, since #80 and #83 didn't do much, should I try OP on Orange, if nothing, then OP on Yellow...then if still not cutting it, OC on Orange, and Yellow if still not enough?

Noting that I've never used OHC...I'd use the OHC instead of trying the OP on a yellow/orange pad. By PC it'll still be too mild. I've used both the yellow and orange pads via rotary (with H-T EC) on mine and I found the following:

Not *that* much difference in cut between the orange and yellow, but yeah the latter did cut more.

More micromarring from the yellow.

Yellow more user-friendly than the orange in some ways because it was softer.

Since I'd consider the E36 clear to be mighty tough to do by PC, I'd probably do at least some passes with the yellow, but I guess you oughta try the orange first. Accept that you'll instill micromarring/hazing...just replace the currrent marring with that and then remove it with the OP.

I have been extremely busy with work and also taking a summer class to help graduate early. I completely forgot pics, but after many hours of finding the righ combo, which was OC on Yellow followed by a 50/50 of OC and OP on Orange I believe I got about 85% of the swirls out.

I am very pleased with the results and may try HTEC next time.

My question is, I would like to do another paint correction on this car shorty before I head off to school again, but don't know what to use.

I am not introducing anymore swirls that I am seeing...using sheepskin and large WW for washing and drying...so I don't think that my products or pads need to be as aggressive, but I highly doubt and AIO would do much. So perhaps start out on the orange instaed of the yellow pad???

Gryz- Yeah, skipping to the orange pad would make for a slightly less aggressive approach. And yeah#2, AIO has never done anything for my marring except make it more visible.

You might try OP on an even milder pad for a final polish, but FWIW, IME OP just doesn't finish out as nicely as I'd like on certain paints. I like to use a finer final polish like 1Z Pro MP or even Menzerna FP.

Thanks, I will give it a try in a couple weeks here.

One question...what is the correct order for paint correction when you are not getting the results you want? Do you change the product first, or the pad?
