Are there biased posts....

What else would you expect? It is a Meguiar's-owned forum designed to promote their own products. They are not hosting and maintaining their own forum for the purpose of opening up discussion to the products of their competitors. To think otherwise would be extremely naive and/or ignorant. It is a forum designed to provide support and feedback about the various products that Meguiar's manufactures.

Hypothetically, if any other manufacturer had their own forum, you would see discussion about their own products.

It simply boggles my mind as to why people would believe that you could use a manufacturer-owned forum to post discussions about competitor products.

Okay then, maybe I gave a bad example. Autogeek might be a better one. Didn't know I would be flamed for saying that. :down

I'm not flaming you or anything, but Autogeek's forums is a pretty bad example too. Just like Meguiar's why should Autogeek pay for a website where people can hype products they don't sell? It's the same thing really except this time you're talking about a webstore and not a manufacturer.

One thing that's always impressed me about Autopia is that they pretty much let us talk about anything we want here. The site is paid for by the sponsors here, but they don't limit us to talking about their products.

:( i'll admit it, I am pretty Meguiar's loyal because ever since product #1 i have been inpressed with the results

:p on the bright side, i am looking into getting some Optimum products and some FPII

Because it gets talked about, hyped, becomes the flavor of the month and they end up carrying it anyway. They should welcome ALL talk.

I think that guy is now on a detailing site now with that seems to whine/badmouth us here and certain products, instead of being constructive, giving advice, giving various product experiences ect.

Exactly why I have never even bothered registering there, all the moderators hate my guts because I don't follow their bandwagon. :nervous2:

Sounds like a great place to hang. Curious which site it is as it would be funny to go there and read a few of thier posts.

:bolt

Oh sure there is, What gets me the most here is if the product is sold in a regular store ie wal-mart k mart target it is cheap and no good, but if you can only order online its the best stuff in the world.

Here is a real good example....

DetailersClub

So how is bad-mouthing another site (and/or its members) on Autopia any different from another site bad-mouthing Autopia (and/or its members)?

At least here you don't have to register to read what is being said here. :nixweiss

Not sure how that changes anything. Lots of forums require registration to view.

When I first ordered from him, he sent me a nice letter saying he was aware of who I was and was glad I decided to try his products. Honestly, that made me feel better than a year's worth of his products. :)

I didn't expect to be able to get that brand shipped to me due to his no outside US shipping rule but when I did manage to get him to send me some, it was a really nice touch to get a nice letter and to know that I was the first down under to have it

I'm like greg pretty much.

Is it the listener who is forming their decisions based on the opinions of others without specific evidence?

Makes you wonder why so many people always seem to have something to say about so many different brands of products. You would certainly think that they would have found what works for them by now.

I am a huge autogeek fan. Did I read it right Scottwax won't register cause of the moderators? I see talk on everyting from Zaino to Megs products. Most likely I have seen this all wrong, but for me Autogeek has been my best place to order and where I refer everyone to.

This reminds me of Waynes world where he claims not to bow to any sponsors and holds the pizza hut, then pepsi, then bayer, then all in rebook.

That thread on DC just seems overly concerned with the fact that there are products that aren't Zaino that can last as long as Zaino. I don't understand why some guys tend to throw such a fit over LSPs. Use what works for you, the end.

I didn't see anything particularly offensive in it. :geez
