I use this stuff on everything. It's my carpet spot cleaner, steamer solution (at 1:4), plastic cleaner for door sills and door panel scuffs, and I've even used it on very dirty leather before Lexol.



Anyone else here use it?
 
I haven't had a chance to use it in our cars as they are almost brand new and have no carpet stains, but for pet stains in the house, there is nothing better. I used to swear by Woolite carpet cleaner, but Folex is a completely different beast, I still can't beleive how well it can remove beer from couch cushions (my wife is happy too).
 
Your post got my interest piqued, so I went on the site and asked for a Canadian retailer, and they emailed me back in an hour and told me London Drugs carries it in Western Canada. I checked at one store, and it was $9.99 a liter! Woohoo! I am going to check some out soon.:xyxthumbs
 
That stuff looks like it's just a plain jane spray bottle with a label on it. I wonder if there is a way to get the concentrate and dilute it yourself?
 
Yeah, it's screen printed here too, but it doesn't look really fancy like some of the other cleaners in the carpet section, so I thought maybe there would be a distributor willing to sell in concentrate. Just a thought....
 
Ahh, hmm. Definitely worth looking into. Unless one of our members can throw some more light on this without us doing the legwork :).



I'd definitely be interested in purchasing a 5gallon bucket of the concentrate.
 
I wrote Folex and they do not have a distributor in my area--Philly--but they were willing to ship me some at around $9.50 per bottle plus shipping. Is this close to what everyone else is paying???
 
Not sure, but IIRC, those spray bottles go for $9.99 at Home Depot, so that should be right on line. I'd get a gallon of it, though. My gallon was $15.99 and I'd guess (rough guess) that it's 3 times what you get in the spray bottles.
 
Wow! I just got a bottle last night! This stuff is amazing! I tried it on a wine stain that has been in my living room for about 5 years. I tried almost every solution which has been mentioned by anyone and couldn't get it out. One application of Folex, and it's almost completely gone! Thanks Ben! Now I'm ADDICTED to Folex! :eek:

A tip for steaming carpets with Folex:



I use a 1:4 (roughly) concentration in the steamer. But first I'll pour GENEROUS amounts of the Folex into the carpets (or floormats in this case) and agitate them with a stiff bristle brush. Give it about 5 minutes to sit, then use the steamer to extract the dirty Folex.



Next go over to your friendly neighborhood garden hose and RINSE the Folex out. I'm a freak about using too much product, so I find myself doing these over-the-top rinses all the time.



Then take your steamer (again) or, if you prefer, just your wet/dry Shop Vac and SUCK all of the water out. This is important as on most floor mats if you let them air dry when saturated with water it kills the pile.



Then you're good to go :). If they need more drying hang them from something after sucking out the water, as opposed to letting them dry on the ground...



Gotta love Folex!
 
Question about using Folex with a wet vac or extractor: Does this stuff foam up at all, meaning you'd need a de-foamer in the recovery tank?
 
They say on the bottle that NO defoamer is necessary. I haven't noticed any large amounts of foam at all with my Hoover SteamVac.



With a professional extractor it might be a different story, but I doubt it. The stuff just doesn't foam up much. You can't even really get it to foam if you rub it on coarse vinyl with a cloth...unlike Simple Green...
