aquawax...any downfalls ?

i decided to get some aqauwax , ive just done a small test area and it couldnt be easier...quick wipe around and the paint is very slick

seems to me this is as easy as it gets...why spend ages with paste waxes and letting stuff cure when you can be done in 15mins

anyone had any issues or complaints about aqauwax??

IMO it looks great on top of something, but ads very little in the way of looks to just polished paint.

Duragloss AW is among the most universally praised products in the detailing world.

I also have never read anything negative about it - just various levels of praise: ranging from "It's good" to "It's miraculous".

It looks great and works well over sealant or carnauba, it's incredibly slick, it's easy to use, it has good durability for a spray on wax, and it's relatively cheap.

It's awesome on fiberglass and gelcoat as well, you should see how much your boat/rv will love this stuff. soaks it right up.

As we all know around here, opinions may differ from Autopian to Autopian. I took the plunge & ordered up some AW about a month ago. I've been using it after my weekly washes with ONR for the last few weeks. I try to take the realistic approach with all the products in my ever expanding arsenal & I've applied that line of thinking with AW. I've decided to use AW as a gloss enhancer. Kinda like I use FK#425 & Zaino Z8. I use other carnaubas & sealants for protection, so for me, there's no need to use AW as my primary wax. In this application, AW performs amazingly! I apply it after washing & drying. Application is exactly like working with a quick detailing spray. Easy on- Easy off. No streaking. It's non "oily". Just AW & my trusty Monster Fluffy. Gloss & slickness are terrific! The weather here in West Texas has been dry. No rain at all, so I haven't had the opportunity to see AW bead. Once again, I use it as a gloss enhancer, so durability isn't an issue for me. All in all, it's proven to be a solid product. And one that I will continue to use. Downfalls of AW? I haven't found any yet!

All this talk of Duragloss has given me the "itch" to use it today. I'm heading out to wash my car with the Duragloss car wash. It's the 1st time I've used the DG wash & I'm looking forward to trying it. Ofcourse, I'll be following it up with AW!

I not much on the flavor of the month anymore but with this one has been around a while and I haven't read any real negitive so I just purchased the Polish (sealant), Aqauwax, the spray wax and the bonding agent and plan to try it the next couple of weeks.

Aquawax is a pretty nice product. I have heard a few reports of streaking in hot weather, but I have not experienced this myself.

I haven't found any flaws with AW, for the price. I mean, it adds appreciable slickness, nice gloss and depth (after it has set up), is incredibly easy to use, and has lasting power. For a local product that is relatively inexpensive, what's not to like? I love the stuff, quite honestly!

About streaking in hot weather...well I used it on my wife's black Maxima back during the summer, when her paint was literally burning hot to the touch (parked in the sun all day). I sprayed AW on and it was steaming off the surface, but I spread it around as quickly as possible. Never had any streaking even in those conditions, and it still lasted quite a while on her car, without any other protectant on the finish.

While DG has a whole line of nice products, I'd say their best of the best are the new 105, AW, CWC, and FC&S QD.

All the threads on it made me want some. I searched for a CarQuest, and find that there is one two blocks form my house, I never realized that! They barely had any detailing products, but they did have AW, so I grabbed it.

My local carquest only has AW and the 111 polish and the 101 polish.

I understand that the 111 is a cleaner wax/sealant but what is 101 compared to 105? Is 105 just 101 on steroids or something?

Here's what I tell everyone that asks me about AW. I tell them that it is like leftover spaghetti. It's always better the next day. When you put AW onyou will be pleasantly surprised how good your car looks. When you get up the next day it will look completely different. Once it sets in it's absolutely amazing!!

I don't think it was meant to be a "stand alone" wax though. It's meant to be a topper for something like a #105 or other wax or sealant.

I am a true blue Duragloss guy and have had wonderful sucess with their products!:bow

101 has cleaners

111 is a non cleaning sealant

601-precleaner/bonding agent

So 105 is like 111 on steroids then? Or something to that affect?

Those are the 2 that are confusing me.

Is using the PBA 601 really worth doing? I mean if you just got done doing a 2-3 step polishing is it sill worth using before 105?

One other thing I forgot to mention is that it stays slick for a long time. Its not like some of the other spray detailers that lose their slickness after a few days or a rainfall.

I have found no down falls to AW..works every time for me..never a glitch..I seen some say it streaked...and I asked about the streaking when I called..Dg said only streaking issues are from using to much product...or sometimes high humidity...

AW is the best house window treatment going.....the outside glass seems to stay clean for ever..lol...

Coupe...105 is a newer type sealant polymer...not like 101 or 111...it is like a modified polymer used in 101 and 111...createing a harder shell coat and slicker surface..and a deeper wetter look...and longer lasting...

I use 101 like I would AIO...has a stronger cleaner..but does leave a nice finished look....

Yes, it can make one lazy and complacement and you'll start to believe your car never needs to be cleaned or waxed again. No joke, I was a bit reluctant to go thru my normal pre-winter routine of cleaning/prepping my daily driver this season. It didn't appear to need wax as it was still beading like "mad", he said in disbelief. OTOH, I could feel and see the surface was filthy and did need some tending to.

Enjoy, it's a great product. I really like it underhood, in tight spots, door jambs, etc. :bow ... places you might not normally wax due to difficult/limited access.
