EXCEPT:

a) LEXUS: WHITE AND TAN: 5-7 MILS
b) LEXUS: BLACK AND SILVER 4.5-6 MILS
c) BMW: SILVER 6-7 MILS

2) FORD: AROUND 5.5-7 MILS.

3) GM CARS AND TRUCKS: ABOUT 4.5-5.5 OR 6 MILS

a) JIMMYS AND BLAZERS: AROUND 7 MILS

4) CHRYSLER: ABOUT 5.5-7 MILS NOTE SEBRING HOODS ARE F/GLASS

5) DODGE CARS: ABOUT LIKE CHRYSLER

a) DODGE TRUCKS: NEWER RAM PICK UPS: THE CAB AROUND 7 MILS AND THE BOXES AROUND 9 MILS.

6) JAGUAR: ABOUT 6-7.5 MILS, BUT THESE TEND TO VARY

7) JEEP: GRAND CHEROKEE: THESE READ ABOUT 6-8 MILS

a) WRANGLERS: ABOUT 4.5-5.5 MILS

I have a question though, is that the thickness of the paint itself or is that a combination of paint and clear?

Unfortunately, that leaves you with 3 variables. So even with a gauge, you would still be unsure of how much clear is left on the car.

The guage measures total film build from the METAL surface.
It is used to establish a baseline. Removing more than .3 mil is considered damaging/compromising to the clearcoat.

Use of a PC is considered quite safe.
