could someone please give a idea on the popular ones cost either mail order or otc :bubba

thats a good price....does it have electronic speed control?? i.e the speed stays constant regardless of how hard you push on it

Here you go, I did some homework for you Makita 9227CB Sander / Polisher 240V - Screwfix Direct, Everything for the Trade, Next Day! .

£169.96 inc VAT , free next day delivery + a piece of mind incase something goes wrong + don't have to worry about being taxed when you touch down at Heathrow. or US $199.99 at AG Makita 9227C; Hitachi SP18VA $159.99

Have a good time in the States

I has a dial like the PC has...speeds 1-6. You can feather the trigger to vary your speed on the fly without changing the speed. For the money its good but if you'll be doing a lot of polishing a Makita would be your best bet.

I have not found any good rotaries OTC- ie Lowes, HD, Sears. But that is in my area.

thanks for your reply........so say in any speed setting, does the machine manitain the same speed for you? or can you slow it up by leaning on it harder

it sounds almost too good to be true at that price...is it really noisey?

I usually run mine at speeds 3-4. When I pull the trigger fully, it is at its max speed for that number. There is also a button on mine that I can depress and it'll maintain the max speed for the number on the dial. You then could release the trigger to slow down and pull it again to get the speed back up.

I think the noise is on par with the PC... maybe a tick louder. Its bigger and heavier but not hard to control though.
