Applying SG with PC?

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
hey, i know there has been a lot of unrest of SG, but i was wondering, could/should you apply klasse SG by PC? and if so, what speed should i be going at? i tried to run a search, but none of the threads really answered my question. thanks for the help!

I used to apply sg with pc, but I recently switched to doing it by hand. I noticed that it goes alot of faster by hand because it's easier to get thin coats than with pc.

hmmm, thin coats by hand. ill try that. are u using a foam applicator? also, do you go panel by panel, or you prefer to only work in 2 x 2 spaces?

When I use SG, goes on at 4 with a finishing pad. I remove with MFs. Personally I get thin and more evenly distributed coats with PC than by hand.

one thing ive noticed when i was using the PC was that it dries really quickly, so you dont really have time to really thin it out, unless you work in only one place. i was using a finishing pad at 5, but really seemed to make the work harder. how much product did you put on the pad?

zesty-man, I use a thin bead around the perimeter of the pad for 1/2 a hood.

Teck, I use 3m masking tape over my trim. It may take a some time to cover up trim and stuff, but it will save a lot more time if you have to remove it.

I would say he means a skinny line the whole way around the outside of the pad about 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide.

Yeah, kinda. Maybe even thinner that that. I should clarify, that that's for my initial application. Once the pad starts to get loaded, I'll use less. Sorry for the confusion.
