G37- Gee, that's a good question, never tried doing it with a synthetic chamois  I *suspect* that the wax/whatever in the QD might clog the pores of drying media like that, but I'm just hypothesizing :nixweiss
Bert- Yikes, that's a healthy dose of Dawn! I'd *NEVER* get all that rinsed out, so I use a lot less. But yeah, Dawn, with a degreaser if necessary, works well for this. I still end up doing several additional washes without detergent and more rinses after that (yeah, my water bill is something else) to get all the suds out.
But I still find that after a while *all* my MF drying towels quit working well. That's one thing I'll give the synthetic chamois/Absorbers/etc., those things simply *work* and keep working. But they never get 100% of the water off for me.
D_Nyholm- I've used all sorts of stuff like that in my (older, agitator-style) washing machine and I've never had any problems. If you overdo the Dawn/whatever you can get some mighty impressive sudsing effects, but I've never had any *damage* from such stuff.
