Applying optiseal with microfiber

Was wondering if it was ok to use a microfiber applicator to apply opti seal. I primed the applicator with water then started using it but can't tell if the applicator was just absorbing it all or not...

I use a foam pad because it does not absorb the Optiseal as much as a MF would. I just prime the pad with Optiseal, I would not prime it with water, it will only dilute the Optiseal.

I don't think you are supposed to prime with water. I use MF covered foam pads, two sprays to prime and then one spray per panel. The foam pads just seem to soak up the Optiseal and I end up putting to much pressure on the paint for my comfort.

No definatetly don`t prime the pad with water, and 2 sprays of OS per panel is more than enough to very lightly apply it.

Just have faith that where ever the MF pad touches Opti Seal will be applied

I use red foam applicators...softer than the yellow foam and better quality. Same as above..prime with about 2 sprays and then one shot per area. Goes on in minutes and then I follow with Opt. Detail Spray after a few min.

Have you guys ever cut up hydrophilic sponges to apply your wax/polish/sealers?

Is that a brand of sponge? I was under the assumption that all sponges were hydrophilic.

Hydrophilic is a type, there are other kinds of foam used for sponge but hydrophilic is very soft. It's what I use for all my final hand polishing and applying whatever wax/sealant I'm finishing with. On some, like Klasse all in one, for example, I'd get the sponge damp, just a spritz with a spray bottle, then wring out all I could to keep the the material from soaking into the sponge and to prevent dry sponge marks on the surface. Very little water, not even close to enough to dilute the product.
