Applying OCW with a PC

When applying OCW with a PC, do you lightly spray the pad and start buffing or is it better to mist the section of the car you are working and just buff the OCW into the paint?

Never used OCW with a PC. One of the main points of OCW is quick application, which doesn't really entail the PC. I'd assume you would want to prime the pad with a few squirts, then the panel as well.

the reason I asked is that AG says a lot of detailers apply OCW using a PC, even though the normal method would be the easy WO and buff with a MF. I was curious if the pc method gave an extra pop or different look. thanks for the replies

Any benefit of applying OCW with a PC would be coming from the pad working the paint, and OCW would be more of a lubricant. If you've already prepped the paint well, then you should see no additional benefit from applying OCW with a PC compared to a microfiber by hand.

The heat genertated from the PC would melt the wax and bring out a more even and higher shine especially temeratures below 60 degrees. Appying by PC is best way to apply thats what David told me in an email PC is the preferred way to apply OCW.

thanks for the update, I was puzzled why it was recommended by AG if there was no benefit. my OCW arrives tomorrow so I will try it both ways (WOWO/PC) on a door or hood just to see.

I can't say for sure with OCW because I don't know if it's WOWO or apply, dry to haze and wipe off.

I can say that I've applied NXT liquid both by hand and with the pc and the pc produced a far more uniform, glass like finish - far and away better then by hand.

Nah, you really dont want OCW drying. Wipe on, wipe off........Then a quick buff wipe. Done, end of story.

QFT.

If find if you let OCW dry, it dries up in blotches like little tiny specs. Takes a hell of a lot of work to get them off as well.
