Applying decals BEFORE or AFTER detailing?

I got a set of new bright white wheels that come with a set of red decals that I have to apply myself.

I'm thinking that the white will get dirty very easily so I wanted to seal and wax them good before mounting them (I figured a couple coats of Klasse SG + AIO will do?), so that the grime will come off a little easier.

I want to do the detail before applying the decals, so I don't have to worry about damaging the decals or leaving stray wax on edges. HOWEVER - will the decals have trouble adhering to a sealed and waxed surface???

Erm, why not detail, apply the decal, then seal it? I don't see why sealing it after you apply it would prove a problem later on....

The biggest problem will come from not prepping the surface properly before applying the decal. Clean and apply the decal first, then apply your choice of sealants over the decal.

i have done it like LouisanaJeeper does and never had any problems and have been doing it this way for 7 yrs. so far so good just my 2 cents

Preferably after, but before the lsp

The reason I thought sealing afterwards might be a problem is because I thought maybe all of the scrubbing I would do would damage the brand new decals?

And this is the reason why LouisianaJeeper's advice is a little easier said than done: ;)

OK so how does this procedure sound:

-clay

-Klasse AIO

-apply decals

-multiple coats of Klasse SG on top of evgerything
