Applying Color-X with the PC....

I've used it with a polishing pad and speed 5. It's actually a nice paint cleaner that removes blemishes and minor swirls. I have soft Honda paint that cleans up nice with it. The polishing pad gives it a little bite to allow the ColorX to work.

I thought my car turned out well using Color-X and I.W. I used the method described in post #6, but I used an orange cutting pad. The paint was very smooth and shiny, but it didn't remove as many swirls as I hoped it would. After the appilcation of Insulator wax, the paint looked great! It was VERY slick and shiny, and I topped with Zaino Z8 for a finishing touch.

The car looks great, but I think the combo I used last summer made it look better and was even slicker. I used Menzerna IP, then AIO, then Zaino ZFX/Z5. However, the car does look great though! Maybe it's just me too.

I don't really think that colorX is an abrasive that can remove defects... if there were any swirls removed it was mostly due in part to the cutting pad you used. If you have some swirls, switch to an abrasive polish to get them out.

Colorx has diminishing abrasives in it-probably mild like #9- Colorx and 845 is a nice combo. Probably not quite as reflective as Zaino tho. Try hitting the 845 with a coat of a good QD and see if adds some extra pop.

If I would've had time, I would've used IP then Color-X. I just did this as a "quickie' experiment. It looks good though! :D
