applicators

Hi All,

I got my delivery of P21s goodies this morning and have been in the garage playing around ever since.

My problem is of course that the P"!s cleaner is not removing the swirls(all though there aren't that many, but then I have only been using a meguiars foam applicator to apply the stuff by hand.

Would I have better results by stepping up to say an MF applicator, as my feeling is that this will provide more bite?

Which applicator is best suited to the job of mild swirl removal? Foam? MF? or Terry?

Or is it simlpy that I am barking up the wrong tree by using P21S in the first place?

I think the P21S is more of a 'polish' than a swirl mark remover. You might try some of Meguiar's #9 or Scratch X and work up ( in cutting ability) from there.

Ther are some great articles on 'scatch' removal in the "Learn" section of this forum...........Hope this helps.

Experience unshared; is knowledge wasted…/

So which applicator would be most suited to the fairly aggressive nature of swirl removal?

MF, Terry or foam?

See Scottwax's advice on this one. He recommends using a terry towel folded into 8. I tried this at the weekend and it did seem to have more bite.

I think most people will advise you to go the PC route as removing or reducing swirls by hand is damned hard work - 3 applications of #9 nearly finished me last Saturday!

Also, be sure to use a good quality terry towel (ie, bathroom aisle), not the cheap stuff you get in bulk. Be sure to work the polish in thoroughly or it won't do very much.

As said, check out the articles or eBook and do a bit of searching, particularly in the Archives.
