Applications by hand

I'm planning on applying sealants/wax by hand with a wax applicator, what is the preferred technique when doing this? Anything I should know about applicators?

What has generally worked best for me (when doing it by hand) is using a foam applicator for paste waxes, and a MF applicator for liquids.

Applicators are cheap, buy a few different kinds and see which ones you like the best.

Danase i see similar items for using clay. how do they compare to using clay in the hand?

I don't sell the clay ones with my kit. I have used the clay one before, LCM gave me one to try. Personally, I did not like it. Just did not feel right too me since I am so used to using clay by hand.

Thanks for your reply

I understand this is a elementry question, but what sort of motion is best when applying wax? flow of air, etc. etc.

Thank you!

I like the concept but am very leary. It seems to me that unless it was kept perfectly even and flat you'd likely mar the paint from the edge of the holder as the clay spreads out.

I'm thinking i will stick with the hand method.

i don't think you would have to worry about the pad back touching but on the vertical surfaces it is hard to keep the clay in place.
