APC in Steamer?

Bdaaa... Everybody agrees with Accumulator :bow

Not everybody, plenty of pros here do it the way I don't. They just haven't posted an :argue on this particular thread.

What this leads to then is an additional cost option. Many, many of our details come in looking like that pic. So, Clean as best we can (as suggested) without steaming/blowing. Steam the little that remains, then use something like Klima-Cleaner?

Would that be the way to go if the customer wants the vents clean as new?

Though I realize the hazards of bringing customers back to reality with regard to their expectations....I'd let 'em know it's not some simple little job.

I'd be leery of tearing apart their dashes/ductwork unless you know what you're doing, so yeah...clean what you can get to, steam a little (note I've *never* had to steam mine even on really bad used-car purchases), and use the Klima-Clean stuff.

Not "good as new" but "better".

LeMarque,

Not addressing the dirt in/out of the vent situation, seems that's been covered. I know your McCulloch is going to be the guinea pig, but I'd not play around with anything else inside the tank. Imagine muddy water in the Keurig coffee maker? :wink1: Might taste like McDonalds the first few times, then turn into the corner gas station after it sits for 18 hours, then Lord knows what.

The only chemicals I would allow in a steamer would be acetic acid (distilled white Vinegar) or a d-limonene citrus base cleaner (P21S Total Auto Wash)

When my vents get like this I close the vents and with a dilute (1:20 solution TAW/distilled water) I steam the vents etc. I also disassemble the duct work to clean out the sand etc on a regular basis, only downside of beachside living ;)
