anything finish as clear as PO85RD

CHUBS -

I feel that it is in order to correct a few things you mentioned.

1) I LOVE PO85RD, and get ZERO HAZING

2) po85RD has no fillers / oils

3) your polish suggestions are loaded with fillers

4) considering your distaste for "fillers" and "oils" your suggestion concerning speed glaze is off the mark... HENCE the name speed GLAZE

5) most importantly you haven't used PO85RD

I was asking if there is anything comparable to PO85RD in terms of the perfect finish it gives / for a little less $ and have recieved excellent suggestions minus the attack on product.

:furious: IMO... it is a good idea to read the initial post carefully if your going to add your 2 cents.

rfinkle2, I agree with you. Meguiar´s - MG 80 Speed glaze is stuffed with oils/fillers. Speed Glaze is a one step polish/sealer. You got some of the paint defects and the rest is hide with the fillers. A typical car dealer detailing product.

Here in Sweden I pay ~$28 for a 32oz with PO85RD, finaly a product that is cheaper here then in the states :D

On my black finish P085RD is second to none. I only use it on my wife's Tahoe, due to the high cost. It produces the best finish on black that I've ever seen (via rotary or cyclo). I have not achieved the same results with a PC. FPII is very good too IMO, which makes it hard to justify the high price.

Put PO85RD and then used Wolfgang sealant then Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax. What I DID NOT DO is let the WG cure. I repeated the process and let it cure with no hazing problems.

I've never been able to beat my PO85RD/FMJ combo!!

Judging from the discussions, PO85RD may be great for a black vehicle? SOOO what is PO85RD?

Sorry about that but I simply don't know. Is it a cleaner, polish and who would have it? Some of these abreviations mystify me. Its like saying "I use a white pad" Well I found out that different makers have different grades for the same color. To say you are using a certain color pad without saying who made it also confuses me. I guess I'm to new at this and, or to stupid?

LOL, you're not stupid at all. I remember being "new" around here and the acronyms just driving me crazy. PO85RD is one of the Menzerna "nano" polishes that was formulated for cerami-clear paint that is quickly becoming standard on many German cars.

As far as the white pad goes, it's one of the reasons that I use the Meguiar's pads and don't worry so much about confusion among pad colors and densities.

PO85RD is a great finishing polish for all color cars. :xyxthumbs

Menzerna make this polish, and it's part of their line of polishes for Mercedes' cerami-clear paint.

and for $45, IMO, it's worth it. from a little comparison i did between this polish and PB's SSR 2, PO85RD was much nicer looking. a bit more shine and wetness. top it with RMG + FMJ + OCW + TS = :woot:

The PO85RD in my opinion really increases your paint clarity. Therefore its especially good for metallic cars because it will enhance the metallic flakes. On the other hand, Menzerna other Micro Polish, 106FF is amazing on dark colored cars because the paint will look really really wet and deep.

That's been my experience as well. But after having lost my 85rd, dealing with

the high cost of the ceramiclear polishes (85rd and 106ff), and the fact that

I am getting really great results with FPII, I don't feel the need to

spend the extra bucks. For me, FPII or OCP get the nods on the regular cars;

I reserve 106ff for the higher end, or very well taken care of cars.

FPII is definetly enough for most jobs. I too only reserved the 106FF either for Auto shows or special request. Most people are blown away by 106FF.
