Poorboy's SSR2 what can you tell me about it? I just got a PC but I don't have SSR2.5 or SSR3. I do have SSR2 thus I need some info. Any information is appreciated. Rick

What exactly do you want to know? I mean, it is more agressive than SSR1 and not as agressive as 2.5. It is actually pretty good universal polish. I haven't come up against much that needed anything more than SSR2 followed up by some SSR1 to clean up. It's my first go to product nowadays. It sort of replaced DACP in my closet. I don't really know which one was more agressive, but SSR2 does the trick. I just got some SSR2.5 to see if that might help a little more, but SSR2 does what I need it to do most of the time.

Lets see.... what can I tell you about it...
-Made by Poorboys
-It's blue
-It comes in a bottle
-A swirl remover
-Works like a charm
-Less agressive than 2.5
-More agressive than 1
-Can be used in sun or shade

OK enough kidding around. Just like you, I didn't use 2.5 until a few months after it came out so I used SSR2 a lot. I did SSR2 and SSR1 combo and it did a decent job with swirls. I have used it with a cutting pad and didn't have any hazing issues. It was a great product until I used 2.5, now the SSR2 doesn't get used that much.

I guess that sums it up. on a well maintained vehicle there's not much need for a more aggressive product.
Also follow the same use and guidelines as in this thread:

I used to use SSR2 a lot. I only use it now after using SSR2.5 or SSR3 with a cutting pad.

What kind of cars are you working on??? SSR3 and a cutting pad is really really abrasive!

This might be a bit off the subject, but I used SSR3 and cut pads on the Cyclo on a "friend of a friend's" neglected auto (97-ish Chevy truck). It really needed some wetsanding and rotary work, but that's beyond my scope of comfortability. It did the trick and removed about 85-90% of the scratches I would say. I followed with a pass of SSR2.5 and SSR1 for the final polish (both with polish pads) . Afterwards the guy told me that his friend thought we'd had it painted. :)

ive used the ssr3 on my pc with a yellow or green edge pad on older oxidized paint and it worked killer but i worked it awhile so it would break down .. killer product ...

I know that SSR3 is an awesome product and does a great job of removing swirls but I interpreted that he was using SSR3 on a lot of cars. I haven't found many cars that needed anything beyond 2.5. Anywho you can't go wrong with any Poorboys products.

i see most ppl on here r using the ssr's with a PC, i have a makita 9227, and considering trying the ssr's. any1 else using a rotory for their detail work?? i learned on a rotory and i have yet to ever use a pc at all, was thinkin though of possibly buying either a cylco or pc in futre though, any recommendations??

You might get more response to your question if you started a new thread, but I'll give you my take on it. I have both a Cyclo and a PC 7336. If it came down to picking one or the other, I'd definitely go with the Cyclo. From personal experience, it can remove more defects than a PC, and you can also use it for final polishing & application of LSP's. To me, it just seems more versatile. It is a little bigger than the PC, so it won't fit into some of the tighter spots. That's what I mainly use the PC for now (with a 4" pad setup) - to get into tighter spots.

I'm fully aware how abrasive SSR3 with a cutting pad is. These are older, neglected cars that need it. Sometimes 2.5 is not abrasive enough. Don't worry, none of my cars need SSR3. Or 2.5 for that matter!
