anyone useing the xpert 1500 polish?

I bought a quart of this to test out earlier this year.



Xpert 1500 hi tech buffs very smooth and the polish consistency is very liquidy as opposed to the more paste like consistency of HD polish.



It compares favorably with HD polish which i like very much to finish out or for buffing on soft paint. It doesn't dust, maybe minimal with rotary in my experience. It has worked well for me in hot humid weather.



I've also tried it with microfiber discs and it has worked very well with those as well.

Then we have Jewelling polish for even finer finishing work with 80 to 110 ppi foam pads

I love how watery the high tech is

The polishes are truly water based. very little oils in them. non diminishing and diminishing abrasive in one.

They are very forgiving of technique and have a wide bandwith as far as different paints and technique goes. very small learning curve

I can second that. Although I don't really agree that it was more liquidy, but I can say the consistency was different.

hey!



do you still use that 1-step polish at 300$ ? permanent filler ish?
 
not anymore as I made the decision to ban all solvent based polishes, waxes, sealants and coatings

all I use is water based so Glare had to go. enjoyed my time with it but.



so now just Xpert system and permanon to do everything.
 
I tried Xpert polishes and comparing 1000 with menzerna compounds I'll stick with Menzerna for cutting. Does the job quicker and does a real good job.



1500 has also slowed down some finishing jobs because it was hard to wipe of its residues. I will keep 1500 (bought a litre of it) for finishing with rotary or DA on harder finishes or even light hand spot polishing but after trying it quite a few times I'll stick with Menza line and my secret finishing product for most jobs.



I will keep trying it tho whenever I feel xPert would work as I imagine these are good polishes if you keep working them longer, problem is that well done 2 or 3 stages jobs take long enough.
 
The Xpert will correct as well as Menzerna and finish nicer I am very certain. what dictates cuttting power is the backing plate, tool, machine speed, arm speed, pressure, pad and if the pad is same size as the plate or bigger. Xperts abrasives roll over the paint instead of tearing into it like everything else I've tested and being water based, superior lubrication and none to minimal dust and longer working time



plus no other products on the market are as burn resistant as this stuff, it's virtually impossible to burn paint. never been able to do it yet despite deliberately trying too.



finish is more important than cut and I'm not alone on that opinion
 
Matt, I would like to know in detail what you base this on: "Xperts abrasives roll over the paint instead of tearing into it" ?

Not a question about Xpert but did you used go by the name "Dream Shine"?
 
This is what my mentor and fourty plus year veteran of the body shop and detailing industry said to me and after testing the amount of products I have and comparing how they work vs Xpert, I reckon he is right about that with the old school compounds.



What tells me that he is right is the marring afterwards between using same pad with same techniques but Xpert vs other brands. The others I tested (over a hundred) all marred the paint with a velvet pad but the xpert left nothing behind most times or the tiniest amount on softer paints which was easily removed with microfibre pad and high tech polish
 
Tried the 1500 again twice last week, same problems - very hard to remove residue (used with a DA) and no much cut compared with other polishes I use. I don't seem to find a place for it just because it doesn't perform as well as other similar products I use.
 
Not sure whats going on with the residue problem mate and remember that the 1500 high tech is for correcting soft paint and using on all paints for refining it, use ultra 1000 polish for correcting medium and hard paint. finish is more important than speed of correction
