Has anyone used the Adams line of polish and wax? The online testimonials are great

but I want to hear how this stuff compares.

Thanks,

Mike

I was introduced to Adams Polishes when I bought the Adam's grit guard buckets after spending a tremendous amount of time shopping. I bought the Adam's bucket - grit guard, Gamma Seal & 5 wheel dolly for $49.95. That's the best deal out there. Yes, I went the route of sourcing everything from US Plastics - but the shipping $30 killed me.

The Adam's distributor was close to me so no shipping and no tax. Happy man. He gave me some samples to try - the Adam's QD spray and the IN & Out spray. I regularly use Zaino, with Meguiar's products. I do love the Stoners line (tarminator and Trim Shine).

Adam's QD spray was impressive. The Meg products, QD and NXT Speed Detailer are noticably not as slick as Zaino's Z6 or Z8. The Adam's QD spray was even more noticably slicker than the Z6 or Z8. The smell is awesome and lasting.

The Adam's In & Out is very similar to CD2 engine detailer and Stoners Trim Shine. The In & Out was impressive as well. I used it in tough to spray places and the over spray you just leave on. CD2 or Stoners you have to wipe off the overspray.

I really don't want to complicate my aresonal of products, but so far Adam's two sample products were impressive. I don't know how much further I will go with Adam's. But the buckets, QD and In & Out spray were awesome.

I have used the adams revive polish, swiril and haze remover and butter wet wax. Personally, I have resorted to other brands which have yeilded me better results. Optimum, Hi-Temp and Menzerna are what I use now as polishes and compounds.

I found the swiril and haze remover to be somewhat effective, it has mild cutting ability, and dusted significantly when I used it. ( i tried a variety of pads and application methods to reduce dusting aswell . .)

The revive polish is very similar to chemical guys revive glaze. It is a great final finishing polish, very mild cutting ability if any, and does not contain any fillers.

The butter wet wax looks fantastic. The flip side to it however is one can only continue to say that about the product for a little more than a week. It's durability, IMO does not compare to many other liquid waxes. Poorboys EX for example, smells almost identical to the similar adams and chem. guys products, but lasts for months.

For new car care, or cars kept in good shape with little if any defects in the paint, its a good product line, easy to use, smells great and will produce good results. Adam's is also developing a paste wax ( intel from cust. service staff ) which should come out sooner than later, which i imagine will have a better durability factor.

I no longer use their polishes and waxes. However their detail spray, in/out spray, glass clenaner, brilliant spray glaze (has fillers),older yellow clay bar (no longer avalible), VRT dressing and MF drying towels remain some of my most frequently used items.

If your looking for a good, user friendly, serious polish line, try checking out Optimum polishes and Optimum Poly seal and Spray Car wax. Just search . . . you will find a consistant trend when I say Optimum is amoung the best and one of the most popular polish and LSP lines used by all us detail nuts - especially since they introduced poly seal . . .

Remember, this is just my Oppinion. I tackle some pretty nasty paint finishes, some which are above my level at times, but with help from people here I give it my all. I also use both rotary and random orbital machines. The adams polishes are designed around use on a random orbit machine like the portercable. Many people on their site have great luck with their products.

If you would like to sample some of their stuff, why dont you send me a PM and we can discuss some options, for i still have all my adams stuff . . .

Adams QD: Good lubricity and cleaning ability, but the gallon I have (2 yr. old) has a strong scent, which can be overpowering.

Adams Revive: Its a glaze that IME has fillers, but its easy to use and it does leave a nice surface

Adams Butter Wax: Easy to use, but NO durability. Can't say much for the looks either

In-n-Out Spray: Great for hard to reach areas, it doesnt really last too long, but it does leave a nice powdery finish.

Adams Car Wash: Good lubricity and plenty of suds, a good product.

Adams VRT: One of my favorite dressings, easy to use, and on the interior, it does last quite a long time.

Adams Carpet Cleaner: Also a good product, I've found only Folex to be stronger in stain removal

Adams Leather: Leaves a nice shine, not too shiney, but it can be a little greasy.

Adams BSG: I use it on chrome and headlights mostly, but it can be used on paint. Fairly easy to apply.

Adams Glass Cleaner: Mild cleaning ability, but it does work quite well, and leaves fairly streak free glass

Adams Swirl Remover: Very mild product, but easy to use, and when combined with Revive, it does leave a nice surface.

Off the top of my head, that's how I feel about the Adams line. Like others have said, CG has a few products that are equivalent to the Adams line, so you *might* be able to save here and there by buying @ CG.

I also have used some Adams products there nice, but there is better out there. Revive is a nice final polish, Butter Wet Wax smells great, easy to use, but does not last that long maybe 2 months, VRT is nice, but to grease for me. The Detail Spray is very nice, and would buy again. Adam is an awesome guy though.

Thanks for all the information. I may try the QD spray. I have used the following

polishes: #80, and Menzerna, and am about to try Klasse AIO on my car. I have

never tried Optimum products. My car is a daily driver and I look for durability so

I'm about to see what AIO will do.

Thanks,

Mike

I really like the QD as well - I rate it in the upper tier of comparable products. However in my experience, Klasse AIO is not very durable. I love the stuff but it just does no hold up to the elements like a dedicated LSP. It's brother, Klasse Sealant Glaze (SG), is the durability workhorse of the family. I would follow AIO with a couple layers of SG.

lol>... They've been saying that for 18 months now. When they told me that, they said all they were waiting on is picking out what type of JAR to put it in. Thats BS if you ask me. They're trying to decide if relabeling 50/50 wax from chemicalguys.com is worth it or not...

Its a good line of products, but it really is just a re-labeled brand...

:woot:

So true. Or is it that CG didnt want to sell off the 50/50 so they could sell it all themselves?

Hi , just got my hands on some Adams BSG and did my black ute, was very pleased with the results. I have used many different products, good stuff too andAdams is up there .
