anyone tried THESE MFs

No, I haven't tried those towels. Its impossible to try or hear of all the new microfiber towels that are now out there. For $5 it seems like a decent investment.

Turtle Wax Professional MicroFiber Detailing Cloths, are the best buy out there. 2.99 for a 16x16 towel. They are very plush and last through multiple washes without leaving lint on your vehicle. If you buy anything else you are overpaying. They are hard to find and there is nothing on their website yet. TurtleWax did say they would be adding it to their website soon though.

i like the history section of that site...."only 2% of North Americans ever heard of a Mirofiber Towel",,,,goood i say.keep it that way....more for us.....they say these are 80/20 blend.....hmmmm...only one way to know for sure....you gotta buy one.....im set with the MF's for now so ill wait til one of u guys gets 'um....;)

I agree with Waxman - have tried many types including Miracle Towels, they are the very good, but perfromance for the dollar goes to Turtle Wax micro towels - I bought what i found when they became available in Toronto area, that was in July, and I have not seen anymore since. Got my money ready when they do show up. MTS

Remember pictures can lie.

But try them out and post results. Compare them to other brands out there too.

Never seen the TW brand. All I see from them is that funky sponge towel for drying at local stores.

It's been my experience that the 70/30 blend towels are better than the 80/20s. Although I did recently get an 85/15 blend that seems like a pretty good towel. Lots of choices out there and I'm sure there will be many more as the other 98% of the American population 'discovers' mf towels. I think I'll stock up before the rush!

Actually people who work in clean rooms know about them very well. That is all that is allowed in those factories. you know the ones that make HD and such stuff.

Also I am starting to see more clothes and other things made from MF. They have a different weave and all but MF none the less.

In fact I saw a MF covered Daytimer at Office Depot today! It felt like a suede type but not that smooth.

Micro Fiber is pretty much a generic term for fabrics made from Polyester and Polymide materials. They can come in many different blends, colors, weaves, texture, sizes, etc.

On this site though MF is a micro Fiber towel for detailing normally 80/20 or 70/30 blends.

I have the Turtle wax MF Towels. They failed the the CD Scratch test that I use. I wish they would have done better because I can get them locally and very cheap. They are great for windows and dusting. I am considering using them for washing...I don't use wash mits and the Turtle Wax MFs do feel very soft when soaked up with water.

I just ordered some 3M detail wipes... They are on special, plus I got free shipping. Not sure if that was through the e-mail they sent me or not. I'll post a review once I get them, not sure what I will use them on yet though. :) All depends on how they feel.

If you can't find the special, let me know and I can find the e-mail they sent me.

I have seen them at the local PepBoys. Since my cars arent coated with CD's, I'll give them a try! Thanks.

My car is not covered with CDs either. It is covered with a soft clearcoat layer that scratches quite easily.

I prefer to use the Microfiber towels that have a difficult time scratching CDs.

Ric has a point. Though we all know that it isn't a perfect system to compare clear coat to CDs, it at least gives us some info as to what may very well be more prone to scratching. Laters
