Anyone throw darts?

I was wondering if anyone plays darts and if you have your own set. If so, what brand of darts do you use?

I have a soft-tipped regulation sized board electronic board in our basement. I throw the cheapest darts I can find for this specific setup- Halex. We're far from serious- just something to do on a cold winter Friday night while throwing back a brew or two with some buddies.

Last dart league I was in was almost 2 decades ago...now, take into account that I'm only 24!

Played in an 18 and under kids league...Saturdays at noon at a bar downtown. Played the last 3 years they had the league when I was ages 6-8. Took 2nd all 3 years to the bar owner's daughter who was in her late teens. I've still got the trophies and the same set of darts. No idea what they're called, but they are like a "mid range" length....not the real short bumblebees, but not the standard length either.

My mom has a full size cabinet board like in the bars, but since I bought my house I haven't played much. I need to get my bar finished in the basement and get a board hung up so I can play some more.

I play with 21g Hammer Heads. Go to a store and throw then order off the internet for better pricing. When I competed I threw 200 darts a day to stay in tune. Haven't played in a while but still win beer at the pubs until I run into a hustler.

I played darts for 5 years for a league at a local bar but got out of it for no reason. I had hammerheads also but gave them away because they just didnt feel right and kept my ones I bought at walmart. Cheap but was the best with them.

I use the 28g HH. I prefer a heavier dart. Have my board up in the garage.

Most do like a heavier dart as it sticks better but I throw better with a short and fast release so I very seldom have a no stick. Carpel tunnel has really played havoc with my game in the past couple of years and I can't shoot for more than an hour before my throw goes south.

Surgery in the next month or so and then I'll get back into it.

Wow, thanks guys! We just happened to throw darts the other day on lunch, because I hurt my back and did not feel like bending over a pool table, and I really liked it. But the bar darts we used where junky. I will for sure be looking into the HH.

Thanks!
