I was looking into selling products later on for my customers to keep their cars maintained better, or I'm I just shooting my self in the foot because it would mess with my detailing business?

But on the other hand then they will know where your getting your stuff from and realize they can do some of the things on their own. I guess if you dont offer a mini detail package then it wont hurt you too bad. But I personally wouldn't because I think there is more cons to doing that. You would probably make a very small profit by selling them as opposed to what you could make doing a $60 cleanup.

A few cars I've done (I don't do many do to my job), I've left 4 oz samples of ONR so they at least have a decent wash product. And I still get a call from the few I've done to do full on work again.
