Are there any US suppliers ...I have been waiting to see one....

Al

Yes there are two distributors on the Easy coast I know of that will sell it between $300-320. If you call the number on the Flex North America site they will provide you with Distributors in your area.

trying to decide on this one and the Festool

You should contact Zoran C (he's a forum member) as he has the Festool and likes it a lot. But he was also considering getting the Flex and it was built for cars while the Festool is really built for wood.

I think they were ALL originally built fo sanding, even the venerable PC.

the Flex tool RO was just released not long ago...and was designed for the Auto polishing as they say ...

I am going to call flex and get some info on the machine...I talked to a guy in Sweden who works in a MB dealership and he uses one and said its a great tool...but he also has a Top Tool he likes also...its powered by a Flex Tool...

looks fantastic! Similar specs to PC/UDM. How much?

Similar specs to PC/UDM? There is nothing similar to PC/UDM in XC 3401 VRG. They are not even remotely close. PC is 3.7amp. 3401 is 7.5. OPMs on PC/UDM are up to 6000opm. 3401 up to 9600. 3401 has action mode that is similar to rotary. PC/UDM do not. They are completely different.

3401 is, like Al said, designed and marketed solely toward automotive industry for paint polishing.

Hmmm, one more thing to consider buying. I was thinking about a Makita, but hmm this looks like it would be a lot of fun to have! I can get a Makita another day. :P

Looking forward to your review!!!

I want more than one before getting out my credit card :) hahaha. There is a really nice high speed sander I am looking at too. 4-amps 11,000 OPM 3-year warranty. I am just looking for a nice finishing tool and I really like the look I am getting with the high speed orbitals I have now.

4amps? Where? Highest amps high OPM I found is Metabo SX E 450 at 3.8A 12000 OPM. What you found? Please do share.

Something like I was talking about earlier, that I have a feeling high speed tight orbit gives me "extra crisp" finish?
