Just a data point from a complete newbie. I became interested in detailing when I bought my new truck. It's quite an investment for me, and I set out to educate myself about finishes, protectants, and so forth. I live two blocks from the Pacific Ocean, so it's important. I found this most excellent forum and started reading.
I've learned a lot, thanks to everyone here, and tried a few different products. By "few" I mean dozens :-} After thoroughly confusing myself, I decided I'd be better served by finding one set of products that worked well for me, mastering my techniques, and then--later--experimenting further afield.
For now(!) I've settled on AIO/SG/PCW for the beautiful red paint, and experimenting with Klasse Protectant for tires, interior, & plastic. My truck's a daily driver and I don't have a lot of time, and these products (for now) are making my detailing a pleasure and my vehicle an eye-catcher. :dance
