New Normal
Well after the rain the other day the truck dried off and this is what was left. I cannot believe what I am seeing. It made me think that it had rained dust.
Normally I would rinse off the dust and just use Poorboy's S&W to clean the surface but for some unknown reason I decided to use a sample of P21S that Jared Pointer had given me to wash the whole truck. I enjoyed the tactile feel of the lubricity of the shampoo and the Schmitt mitt that I used did a good job of holding the product and cleaning the surface of the paint quite well. What I was left with is this.
From the picture you might say that it all came out rather well. Clean surface to continue with my on going test. But look at this picture.
I know ...I know...improper washing and drying techniques caused this. That and the terribly hard water that comes out of my hose that I used to rinse the washed section. Unfortunately, the whole truck is covered with this water spotting. I know what to do. I will simply use a polish and my PC and chemically and mechanically remove the water spotting. But that will effectively put a stop to my little experiment with the sealants over a glaze test that I have ongoing.
Are there any suggestions as to how to approach this water spot dilemma and not skew the testing I have on the hood. I am not sure that I can live with the water spots on the hood while the rest of the truck is repaired. Have I effectively stopped my little field experiment because of poor washing regimen?
