Anyone here good with editing images?

I have an image that a friend of mine drew up (not sure what program he used) of my fire department badge that I use as my main desktop image. It's a very basic drawing, and I'd like to make it a little more realistic looking, and just plain cooler, if possible. Maybe add some depth to the image and/or some tribal effects? I'm open to anything.

I know a lot of you guys are just plain awesome at this stuff and do it in your sleep which is why I'm asking. It's just something to play with on your free time, and something I would really appreciate.

I can send you the full resolution image, and a picture of my real badge if you need it. Here's what we're working with.

Jason, send the full sized image to me at work. I'll mess around with it in my *free* time and see what I can come up with. <todd@bobbyandstevesautoworld.com>

Sorry for holding out on you guys. Here's what inov8ter came up with:

Anyone else want to give it a whirl?

If you want me to change anything let me know. I can also change it around and use color. If so, just let me know what color(s) you want.

I hate to thread jump but wondering if anyone would be willing to take a look at this. I'm wanting to print this on a T-shirt at about 8"w X 5"t. Is there enough here to work with at that size or will it pixelate? If it can be worked with I also want to change Creamsicle to Dreamsicle. The text feel can either be maintained with the original C or it can be drastically altered so that the change really stands out. I can go either way but kind of leaning towards drastically altered font.

This is for a joke on a friend of mine who while in a inebriated state looked over at me (I was wearing an light orange shirt) and said "You look like a giant Dreamsicle". I've hunted tirelessly for a Creamsicle shirt but I guess that I am going to have to make one on my own and this is the coolest graphic I have found.
