Anyone here get into headlight reconditioning?

Any good writes ups anywhere? Friend asked me to do his.

I have not done much of it in a while, but did on this Jetta this week.

Settled on:

2k unigrit wet by hand.



2k abralon wet via 3" air sander. I tried this step first and it would not cut fast enough, so I decided to use it as a follow up.



KBM via M105/4" orange LC pad/PC6

KBM via M86 4" orange LC pad/PC6



Make sure you do not get the lense too hot.



Sealed with Blackfire wet diamond sealant like I did on the paint.

Not 100% but the clients where very happy.

Sometimes I have to go more agressive than 2k grit, like 1500 on some severe cases. I just spend more time with the 2k making sure no deep grooves remain before polishing.

Sometimes I have to go more agressive than 2k grit, like 1500 on some severe cases. I just spend more time with the 2k making sure no deep grooves remain before polishing.

I did a 2001 Mercedes CLK this past weekend and had to resort to 800 grit to start.
