Anyone heard of this stuff?

So I'm too chicken to perform the first real good paint detail on my car and I call a Detail shop that is very well used by the Porsche club in my area. I tell the guy what I want done, cleaning, claying, polishing, etc. and I inquire to the products he uses to perform the various tasks. He tells me they use a product called 'TRICUT' which is not an abrasive but works from heat activation and removes scratches etc. He also tells me that mostly autobody shops use this and you do not find in the regular consumer market place. I did a search here with no luck. Has anyone heard of this stuff and should I have this stuff used on my car? :nixweiss

Here is my personal take on the situation. If they are a reputable detail shop, chances are they know what they are doing. However, I would say tackle it yourself. Detailing and proper care isn't something that can just be done properly once. It is a state of mind. Get you a PC, pads, clay, polish, and sealant. Then whenever you feel the urge, you can do it whenever you want.



I am one of those guys where my philosophy is - I could probably do it just as well or better than the other guy with some practice and learning and am willing to put forth the time and effort to learn how to do it myself.
