Its a 10,000 grit sanding gel for auto finishes. I've seen it used on cars before and it does a spectacular job. I myself and a little intimidated with using it because its some heavy duty stuff. Just wondering if any of you guys are familiar with it.

sounds very interesting. I'd kinda like to try it. The idea sounds good to me. I've used compounds that will best 10,000 grit easy. I just use them VERY sparingly. Give it a shot on something that can get damaged and let us know.

i wish I had a vehicle i could play around with.

Just a suggestion - stop by the auto wreckers and ask if they have a spare hood or trunk lid that you could have to work with. When they get done laughing, you might get one - I did - for free :D

Next up, I 'm going to try for a Honda CR-V bumper ;)

I've used the 10,000 grit "gel" (it's actually a white paste) on car finishes, plastic lenses, and other things. It works great. Just use a slow (2-300 RPM) speed or you'll sling it everywhere! Also helps to keep the foam pad damp.
