I admit I have a problem
I haven't built web sites for years, but from scanning through some of the resource links it would appear that compliance and search engines are going old school. I used to research the latest search algorithms and use those rules when constructing my keywords. thing is, even primitive html has placeholders for that stuff without hiding text on your page, so...
use meta tags. at the top of this browser window, click on View | Source. review the keyword and description metatags on this page and mimic the format on every page on your site, specific to that page. you end up with a lot of qualified redundancy and that can get you in the top ten search results if you experiment. just keep in mind that folks in your area are searching just like folks in johannesburg, so be area specific with keywords as well.
I'm not a pro, but I can't imagine why you wouldn't build a website. any potential audience warrants the minimal effort. besides, even if you're successful with traditional advertising you need to set up your fliers somewhere, right? might as well call the printer and tell them the url you want to print for this month's specials.
